An AI-ready website is one that AI search engines can crawl, parse and quote accurately. In practice that means server-rendered content rather than JavaScript-only text, complete structured data, an llms.txt file, self-contained passages that fully answer one question, and explicit entity facts: who you are, where you operate, who you serve. The last two are where most sites have the most to gain.
Crawlable
Crawlable means your content exists in the HTML before any JavaScript runs. Many AI crawlers do not execute JavaScript, so text that only appears after scripts load may never be seen.
Check it by fetching the raw HTML (with curl, or by viewing the page source) and searching for a sentence from the middle of the page. Also confirm your robots.txt allows the AI user agents you want to be found by, and remove any Crawl-delay line: some AI crawlers respect it and will read your site very slowly.
Parseable
Parseable means an engine can tell, without guessing, what each page is about and who it belongs to. Structured data does that job.
At minimum, publish Organization, a Service node per offering, FAQPage for real questions and answers, and Review for genuine testimonials. Put them in one @graph with @id references so the engine knows every node describes the same entity, rather than scattering disconnected blocks across the page.
Quotable
Quotable means any paragraph still makes sense when it is lifted out of the page on its own, because that is exactly what an AI answer does with it.
The practical rule: the first sentence under a heading answers that heading completely, and the detail comes after. Copy that builds slowly to a conclusion reads well to a person scrolling, but the extractable unit ends before the conclusion arrives.
Attributable
Attributable means your entity facts are stated in the body copy as well as in schema: where you are based, when you were founded, who runs the company and who you serve.
An engine answering “best WordPress agency for B2B SaaS in Israel” can only choose you if those words appear on your pages. It is the cheapest change on this list and often the most effective.
A one-hour audit
- Fetch the raw HTML and search for a sentence from mid-page. Found? The page is crawlable.
- Run the URL through a schema validator. Missing Organization, Service, FAQPage or Review? Add them.
- Read the first sentence under each H2. Does it answer the heading on its own? If not, rewrite it.
- Ask two AI assistants what your company does and where it is based. Wrong or vague? Your entity facts are missing.
- Check that
/llms.txtreturns a page and that every link in it works.
